ROSEY’S TIPS
- Arrive early to enjoy the comfort of an airport lounge. Redeem your miles for an Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Guest Pass, or if you’re already an Air Canada Elite or Super Elite member, simply show your card and your boarding pass.
- Travel with Aeroplan Partners — airlines, hotels, car rentals, etc. — at each point of your trip for more ways to accumulate.
ET Canada correspondent and three-time Olympian Rosey Edeh is passionate about travel, and she’s racked up plenty of Aeroplan Miles since becoming a member in 1991. While her days of competing in the Atlanta, Barcelona and Seoul Olympics in the 400-m hurdles are past, this frequent flyer shows no signs of slowing down. She shares her jet-setting tips with Aeroplan Arrival.
RECENT TRIPS
“I travel mostly for ET Canada now. In less than two weeks I was in Rome, NYC and London. I go back and forth from Toronto to LA at least 12 times a year. And this year, I flew to Vancouver to carry the flame for the 2010 Olympics, which was so exciting! I always insist on flying Air Canada [so I can earn Aeroplan Miles].”
THE PERKS
“I’ve been an Air Canada Elite member for four years, but my goal is to one day get to Super Elite status. The most civilized way to fly is to have access to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge. It’s so comfortable and it gets you ready for the flight. You’re relaxed and pampered. Even if you’re not an Air Canada Elite or Super Elite member, redeem for a pass. You won’t regret it.”
EARNING POWER
“I mainly earn through flying, but while I was in Chicago interviewing Mark Wahlberg, I rented a car with Avis [an Aeroplan Partner] to visit my friend just outside the city. [Renting a car] really gives you the flexibility to explore and get around. I also accumulate through Esso. It’s always fun to see the miles go up and up. I even play the contests, but I haven’t won yet.”
FAVOURITE SPOT
“I went to Banff, as part of the ET Canada Vancouver Olympic tour, to interview the athletes. I had the opportunity to go skating on a pond near Lake Louise with the Canadian Tenors. It was absolutely stunning. I remember looking up and thinking ‘Canada is beautiful.’ I stayed at the magnificent Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in the middle of the Rockies and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise [to earn Aeroplan Miles]. They have these wonderful dogs [part of the Canine Ambassadors service] that you can take on walks. It’s such a nice touch.”
